Ted Lasso

Good morning. I'm not sure how widespread the love for the TV show -Ted Lasso -is ( it's on Apple TV- well worth the subscription)... but it's one amazing show !

It came out after quarantine and I think that has a little something to do with it's popularity. Its message of "put kindness out in the world" really resonated with me!

So I joined a women's MeetUp group here in West Michigan 2 years ago. I had hoped to meet new friends and go out to socialize to get out of my isolation. ( moving a lot makes friendships hard to maintain )

Well it's been great ( at times ) and I've made new friends who have been a blessing to my life. No doubt. But lately the group has had what I call -" high school mean girl nonsense ". Oh my word ladies , get over yourselves. All of us within the group are over 50 , with some pushing 80. But the lack of maturity and constant backstabbing and unkindness makes me sad.

If we are not put on this earth to do good to others , be kind and loving , and try to make this world a better place ??? Why are we here ???

I'm not perfect and I will never try to reach that pinnacle. But. I genuinely do try to be kind and thoughtful and respectful. I question my membership in a group where these things are not happening. But maybe my mission on earth is to be an example of kindness and generosity and support of the people running the group. ( not an easy task with constant No Shows to events and complaining )

It has provided warmth and friendship and kindness to my life. I'm very thankful to the ladies I've met and the fun events I've attended that my husband would never agree to attend or enjoy !

So I will do my best to be open and giving and encouraging. I think it's the least I can do !!!!

Be kind to someone today -- it's so needed !!!!
